Introducing Bent Moments...a moment you can spend learning about yoga: finding relief through a stretch, that it's not about any body type and not all yoga is taught the same.

Creating a healthier body can be overwhelming...

Taking one moment at a time to relieve an ache or pain can make a goal more achievable, and worth your time.

Resting the neck, shoulders and mind

Relieving stress fatigue

Have the front of your chair approximately 1.5' away from your desk or table, heels underneath or in front of your knees (depending on chair height).

  • Place one forearm on top of the other, on the desk

  • Rest the area between your eyebrows on your top forearm, remove glasses if wearing

  • Move the tops of your shoulders away from your ears, shoulder blades moving down your back

  • Lengthen the back of your neck out from between your shoulder blades

  • Soften the muscles of the face, the neck and shoulders

Assistance:

Can't easily reach the desk - consider placing forearms on a wall or higher ledge

Difficult to move shoulders away from ears - roll the inner upper arms up towards the ceiling

Hurts lower back - extend top of buttocks down, filling out the lumbar (lower back) area

How it helps:

Shoulders - as we stress out or spend too much time at the computer our shoulders start to creep up towards our ears, tightening the neck muscles. Create the space needed to release those muscles.

Stress/headache - resting the area between the eyebrows onto something calms the mind and helps to alleviate an oncoming headache

Wishing you great health, Tanya
